Speed up your PC

Tonight at the historic Cheatham St Warehouse is a really exciting songswap, featuring Jody Mills(www.myspace.com/jodybmills), Allan Goodman (www.myspace.com/allangoodman), Jordan Minor (www.myspace.com/jordanminormusic), and Tony Taylor(www.myspace.com/tonytaylorband). These 4 amazing songwriters will take the stage around 9:30 pm. This is shaping up to be a great week at Cheatham St.

Tomorrow is Kent Finlay's Songwriter Circle, a fantastic open mic, one of the best you'll ever attend. It's been going on since the 70's, and such famous names as Randy Rogers, Terri
Hendrix, Bruce Robison, and James McMurtry have played. Adam Carroll is kicking off the evening with a Happy Hour show starting around 4:30.

Thursday night the Ben Danaher Band will be headlining, after a Happy Hour set from another young songwriter, Pake Rossi. You have to get out and see this kid!

Monday night at Cheatham St Warehouse

So, I'm sitting here drinking a $1 pint of cold Shiner Bock, listening to the live Happy Hour Show of Missoula Slim. Missoula is the musical nom de plume of San Marcos lawyer John Gilliam, who is currently recording his first Missoula Slim CD. He's a great songwriter, writes witty and clever songs. Bigfest meeting to follow, where we'll discuss the upcpming 3 day music festival/fundraiser for the Cheatham St Music Foundation.

Tonight there will be a 3 man song swap featuring upcoming songwriter Jason Bednorz, who's currently in the studio with producer Keith Davis, Texas Renegade's Andy Bertelsen, and Nathan Daniel, who recently released his first CD, Crazy World, which was also produced by Keith Davis. It should be a great night of music, and there is no cover.

Sunday, May 17, at 4pm, Cheatham St Warehouse in San Marcos is hosting a double CD Release party. Ben Morris and the Great American Boxcar Chorus are celebrating the recent release of their second CD "Underground Railroad" This is one of my favorite cds of 2009, and listening to the first single, "Headlights" will show you why. This band, rom the College Station area, has a unique sound, great songwriting, and puts on a great live show.

George Macias is also celebraing the release of "Firefly" on the same bill. George is a talenting songwriter from Austin.

This will be a great show, held at the historic Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos. Cover is only $5, doors open at 3:30pm.
